fingerpicks - 2005/06/08 13:40
Hi,
Does anybody have advice on using fingerpicks? I've been playing for many years and have always used my fingers (no nails). I'm interested in exploring the brighter tone achievable by using fingerpicks, so I bought some. They feel very foreign and though I realize that this is probably normal, I was wondering if any of you that are experienced in this could shed a little of that experience with me and maybe speed up my learning curve. The thumbpick's not too bad, it's just the fingers, particularly the 3rd finger (I've always picked with the thumb and 3 fingers).
Off-topic a bit:- I own a Martin D16-GT, a Seagull 16CW and a Yamaha Classical guitar.
kind regards,
Steve Hubbard

I've been using Alaska Piks for the past year and I think ther're great.
They give a really nice tone not to mention volumn.
Since the tip of your nail fit into a slot near the tip of each pick
you have to maintain some nails but not much.
I also use an Alaska pik on my thumb but I think most use a regular thumb pick.
Chris Proctor has been using these for a long time.
They're $2 each.
Good Luck
